The number one UN Millennium Development Goal is to eradicate extreme poverty and hunger by 2015. And yet, last year, the United Nations estimated that almost 1 billion people suffer from chronic hunger. As a fundamental need, what are the challenges facing policy makers who are trying to establish global food security?
